Tano North To Get 150 Mechanized Boreholes

Water they say is life, with this the Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency, Hon. Freda Akosua Prempeh has taken the responsibility to construct mechanized boreholes for her constituents.

According to her, access to portable water is a problem in the constituency.

So capturing the Parliamentary seat in 2016, she put it on herself to construct 50 boreholes for the waterless areas from 2016 to 2020.

But speaking in an interview on “The Privilege Morning Show’ on Wontumi Radio/TV, Freda Prempeh said the target exceeded 100.

She noted that she is continuing with the initiative and has so far constructed 106 boreholes.

“I’m hoping from 2021 to 2024 we will reach our target of constructing 150 boreholes in the Constituency.

The Deputy Minister for Works and Housing enumerated some of the places that have acquired the mechanized boreholes.

“Atonsu, Tanoso, Kobina, Subonpan, Tanokrom, Nkwantabisa, Yamfofie, Yamfo college of health, Susanso, Bomaa hospital and Senior High School, Kwasuogyae, Bomaafie, Duayawkwanta, and others.

However, Hon. Freda Prempeh noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has enlightened them on the loopholes in the health facility.

She said, ” construction of CHIPS compound are underway in some areas to rekindle the health facilities in the constituency.”
