Takoradi Fake Kidnapping Incident Was A Plot To Dupe Adopted Father- Police

The Western Regional Police has revealed that the investigation conducted on the recent Takoradi fake kidnapping incident indicates that it was a plot by Joana Krah, one of the persons arrested to dupe her adopted father.

According to the Police, the three are Joana Krah, Sussana Awotwe and Francis Eshun whose ages range between 26-29 years.

Speaking on the Privilege Morning Show on Wontumi Radio, the Western Regional Police PRO, DSP Olivia Adiko explained that, Francis Eshun and Sussana Awotwe reported to the police that, Joana Krah has been kidnapped and that the kidnappers are demanding Ghc5,000 as a ransom.

But she was quick to say that the Police noticed the three persons are relatives.

“Joana Krah upon realizing the matter is becoming critical, reported herself to the police and relayed to the police that she wanted to defraud her adopted father.

DSP Olivia Adiko told Nana Konadu Abu-Prah that the three are in police custody and would be arraigned before court today (Monday).

“Anyone who fakes kidnapping would be dealt with accordingly to serve as a deterrent to others,” she said.
