A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bright Nyampong, has asked his party to take advantage of the infighting in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win the 2024 elections.
The NPP man claims it is a positive sign the leadership of the NDC are fighting amongst themselves noting that the changes in their parliamentary leadership is creating division for them.
On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, the leadership of the NDC in Parliament was changed. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson takes over from Haruna Iddrisu as the new Minority Leader.
Ellembelle MP, Kofi Armah Boah will replace James Klutse Avedzi as Deputy Minority Leader. Kwame Agbodza is now the Chief Whip for the opposition side and will be deputised by Banda MP, Ahmed Ibrahim and Ada legislator, Comfort Doyo Ghansah respectively.
Reacting to the development on Wontumi TV’s Talk Ghana show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Mr. Bright Nyampong stated that the new face of the NDC in parliament were a selection done by former President John Mahama to spite the old leaders.
“The new leadership is seen to be the darling boys of John Mahama. There is division in their party because the new leaders belong to the faction of JM… The stories coming out means there is fire in the party and the NPP must take advantage for a victory”, he said.
Bright Nyampong added that “even in opposition, management is a problem for them and this is good for the NPP, they (NDC) should keep on fighting and destroying their party; it will help us”.
