Two Dead

Two illegal miners have died in a mining pit collapse in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region, specifically in Osino. The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Some of the illegal miners managed to escape unhurt. A rescue operations team, including the police and officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), was at the scene around 1:50 am on Thursday to retrieve three individuals from the pit.
