Ghana Faces Competition From Lome Port As Tema Port Traffic Declines

The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana has raised concerns over the country’s loss of port traffic from the Tema Port to the Lomé Port in Togo. While Tema Port’s traffic has increased, it has not been growing as rapidly as Lomé’s Port, which has seen a significant increase from 300,000 thousand containers per annum in the early 2000s to 1.5 million containers today. We’re Hopeful Of Securing IMF Programme Before End Of 2022 – Ofori-Atta

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, is optimistic the country will get approval from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for an economic programme before the end of 2022. According to him, a team of government officials will from this weekend travel to Washington, DC in USA for two weeks to continue negotiations with the Fund to fast-track the deal. Tema Mpekadan Railways Project 95% Complete – Amewu

Contractors working on the over 90 kilometers railway project from the Tema Port to Mpekadan near Akosombo in the Eastern region have disclosed that work is 95% complete and on schedule to be handed over to government by the end of the year.
