The New Patriotic Party(NPP) Parliamentary candidate of the Akuapim North, Sammi Awuku, has emerged victorious in the 2024 election. The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) secured a commanding 28,365 votes, defeating his main contender, John Evans Kumordzi of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 14,217 votes. Mr Awuku’s victory makes him one of the relatively few NPP parliamentary candidates who won their seats in the keenly contested election.
