The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday, April 3 held meetings with the National Council on the timelines of the ruling party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries. Agreement was reached to have a National Congress on Saturday, November 4 for the next flagbearer to be elected. This was approved at the meetings. Before then, if the number of aspirants is more than five, a Special Electoral College election will be held on Saturday, August 26 to reduce the candidates to five.
