Three Remanded In GH₵620K Alleged Gold Scam Transaction

A 59-year-old car dealer accused of swindling a businessman of GH₵620,000 in a gold transaction has been remanded into Police custody by the Achimota Circuit Court. Gbegoueu Evrard, a French national, is said to have collected the money under the pretext of selling to the complainant, Hayford Boadi, gold but failed. Evrard is facing a charge of defrauding by false pretences. His accomplices are Ernest Kweku Antwi, a 32-year-old aluminum fabricator, and Jordan Ansah, a 24-year-old private security man. Court Orders Arrest Of 2 In $100k Gold Scam Case

An Accra Circuit Court has ordered the arrest of two persons allegedly involved in a $100,000 gold scam case. The Court presided over by Samuel Bright Acquah issued the bench warrant when the prosecution led by Inspector Wisdom Alorwu prayed for the warrant. When the matter was called before the Court, the two accused persons namely; Yahaya Bin Yahaya and Ibrahim Ba, were absent. Meanwhile, two other accused persons, Iddrisu Yakubu and Zongo Yakuoba, are said to be at large.
