Aston Villa have confirmed Diego Carlos has ruptured his Achilles’ tendon and will now require surgery. The 29-year-old started a second successive Premier League game on Saturday after his £26million move from Sevilla in the summer. But Carlos was hurt during injury time at the end of the second half and had to be replaced by Calum Chambers with only seconds of the match remaining. A statement said: “Aston Villa can confirm Diego Carlos has ruptured his Achilles’ tendon. “The player sustained the injury during Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Everton. The player will require surgery and will then begin his rehabilitation programme.”…
