Support E-Levy Not My Personal Decision To Buy Chelsea FC- Chairman Wontumi Tells Ablakwa And Blakk Rasta
Chairman Wontumi

Chairman Wontumi has responded to the Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Blakk Rasta by advising them to support government’s decision to introduce E-levy for development rather than his personal decision to buy and own Chelsea FC.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, says government should not burden Ghanaians with the introduction of the Electronic Transaction levy (E-levy).

According to him, instead of holding numerous town hall meetings to persuade Ghanaians to accept the levy, government should rather engage the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly referred to as Chairman Wontumi, for assistance.

Blakk Rasta is also reported to have called on Chairman Wontumi to come to the aid of his ‘broke’ party instead of opting to buy Chelsea.

But responding to the two gentlemen, Chairman Wontumi stated that it was the duty of Hon. Ablakwa to support government in Parliament to pass the E-levy which is a long and sustainable way to ensure there is always money available for the country for development.

According to him, Ablakwa and Blakk Rasta have failed in their respective line of duty to realize that running a football club like Chelsea is not like handling a country like Ghana where power belongs to the people and not a single individual.
