Dr. Samuel Afriyie has advised flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to cease claiming they are next in line for succession for the and rather, churn out policies like vice President Bawumia.
According to Dr. Afriyie, some of the aspirants are of the view that they joined the party before some of their colleagues and that automatically qualifies them to take over when delegates converge to elect President Akufo-Addo’s successor.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Dr. Afriyie praised vice President for distinguishing himself stating that he is the only person who is focused on churning out policies to help the government solve issues.
“Bawumia would say things to solve issues and problems…but the others just saying it is my turn should rather come out with policy based issues”, he advised.
He explained that aside the vice President, some others who have expressed interest in becoming flagbearer are acting as if without them, the party would break up.
“Some are also portraying that they aren’t part of this government. They are indicting themselves. They should change their political messages and appear to belong to the same party”, he said.
