The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has jabbed former President John Mahama over his claims that projects in the Volta region have been abandoned by the government of President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking at the grand durbar to mark the climax of the Asogli Yam Festival in Ho, former President John Dramani Mahama said various projects started by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government have been discontinued.
“Projects started by the NDC have been abandoned and others that are to be completed in the region are being done at a slow pace. For some of the projects, this government asked contractors to stop work”, Mr. Mahama emphasized.
But responding to his allegations, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi warned the former President to stop “manipulating the people of Volta” with lame conversations on projects which has been abandoned.
In an interview with Wontumionline.com, Chairman Wontumi explained that the Akufo-Addo led government has not abandoned any project in Volta region as being speculated by former President Mahama.
He explained that most of the projects started by the erstwhile Mahama government were done without funding just like he (Mahama) built the Komenda sugar factory.
“I want to tell John Mahama to be serious for once. He can use part of his bribery money he received whilst in office to complete abandoned projects in the Volta region. He is always manipulating the people of Volta region but his government did very little for them”, Chairman Wontumi said.
