Stop Constant Criticisms On The Black Stars, It Makes The Team Less Attractive – Hon. Kennedy Agyapong
Veteran politician, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has advised Ghanaians to stop the constant criticisms on the Black Stars as he believes it is the reason the national team doesn’t attract some footballers especially the foreign-based once.
Lots of football fans in the West African nation have been very critical on the senior national team following their appalling display so far in the ongoing AFCON.
“However, these forms of criticisms are the main reason many believe the foreign footballers with Ghanaian decent are unwilling to feature for the Black Stars, with a clear case being Inaki Williams issue, having had his mother said same.”
Hon Kennedy Agyapong was speaking during the Astro Turf ground breaking ceremony at Dompim in the Assin Central area of the Central Region.
Also, players like Chelsea’s Hudson Odoi, another English-based duo of Tariq Lamptey and Mohammed Salisu have all shown no sign of interest to switch to Ghana in recent times.
The Assin Central Member of Parliament urged Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars to win their last game to qualify and also to stop the unnecessary criticisms.
“I have two Ghanaian players in Spain who wanted to play for Ghana but they rescinded their decision because of what we did to Asamoah Gyan.”
“The GFA approached me to help convince those boys to play for Ghana but they declined because of the fear of being chastised by Ghanaians when they go wrong.”
“We should not chastise our players, we should rather encourage them and we can beat Comoros convincingly to qualify,” he stressed.
