1 GAD, better known as Stonebwoy and his pal, Shatta Wale have been nominated for the Best African Act at the 2020 MOBO Awards along with some other great African Musicians.
The MOBO Awards are an annual music award presentation honoring achievements in “music of black origin”, including hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music. The MOBO Organisation was founded by Kanya King, and the first MOBO award was presented to Baby D, in the Best Dance Act category.
Two of the frontrunners when it comes to dancehall in Ghana, SM Boss, Shatta Wale, and the Bhim Nation President, Stonebwoy have managed to secure a place in one of the categories as they are both nominated for the Best African Awards 2020.
Other African musicians also nominated for that category include, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Davido, Fireboy DML, Rema, Master KG, Burnaboy, NSG, and Afro B.
Due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus and its restrictions, the event will be held virtually and hosted by DJ and TV presenter Maya Jama alongside vocalist and online entertainer, Chunkz.
