STATEMENT: Chairman Wontumi Reacts To The Death Of Basoah, MP for Kumawu

The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has reacted to the passing of the Member of Parliament for Kumawu constituency, Hon. Philip Atta Basoah.

Shortly after news broke that Mr. Philip Atta Basoah has been called by his maker, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi indicated that as Regional Chairman, he has received the news and is devastated.

Speaking on his last encounter with the late MP, Chairman said “he was part of those who joined the ice President to celebrate Akwasidae with Otumfuo. His death should be a lesson to us all because we all don’t know when our maker would call us. We plead with God that he should protect us such events”.

Chairman Wontumi revealed that he had been briefed Mr. Philip Atta Basoah had been under the weather for some time and never expected his condition would lead him to his grave anytime soon.

He however stated that nobody can challenge God’s decision and would want to sympathize with the wife, children and family of the late MP for Kumawu constituency.

He also commiserated with the paramount chief of Kumawu Traditional area, Barima Safo Tweneboah Kodua for his loss.

Hon. Philip Atta Basoah died on Tuesday, 28 March 2023. He was 54years old and entered parliament on the ticket of the NPP in 2012.
