Statement: Ashanti Regional NPP Executives Urge Party Members To Exercise Restraint In Lobbying For MMDCEs

LIVE COVERAGE: NPP's Extraordinary Constituency Delegates Conference

Members of the New Patriotic Party have been strongly advised to exercise restraint in lobbying for the appointment of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives.

In a statement released by the Ashanti Regional executives of the party, it clearly stated that members of the party should allow the President or his Chief of Staff make an announcement before they start lobbying for their preferred candidates.

The statement further urged members to allow President Akufo-Addo the needed space to make the right decision by settling on candidates that would help his government succeed at the municipal and district level.

Full statement below…

To enable the government of President Nana Addo Danķwa Akufo-Addo succeed, we would call on all members of the party to exercise restraint and slow down on the lobbying approach to get their preferred candidate selected to become Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

We as executives of the party from the Ashanti Region, would call on the general public especially members of our party to allow the President and his able Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Opare officially make an announcement before names of candidates are presented for consideration.

We believe that abiding by this rule, would accord President Akufo-Addo and his government the needed peace to perform their duties and settle on candidates that would help the current government succeed at the municipal and district level.

Signed

Bernard Antwi-Boasiako

Ashanti Regional Chairman
