Small Scale Miners Welcome The Dissolving Of Inter- Ministerial Committee On Galamsey- Frank Osei
Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Frank Osei has said that, the Association welcomes the President’s decision to dissolve the inter-ministerial committee on galamsey.
He said that it is only the President who knows why he has embarked on that decision.
Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show, Mr. Osei believes that, the outcome of the 7th December, 2020 general elections is an indication that, the ban of galamsey had an impact on the election.
“After the election, it has been clear that mining enhances nation’s development but not to do it illegally to destroy lands and property, “he said.
According to him, they hinted of the negative impact the ban on galamsey will pose but the government shun them.
The Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners in the Ashanti Region said, “Ghanaians are passionate about mining so President Akufo-Addo should let it be his heart desire to help the sector.
He however appealed to the President to recognize the work the small scale miners are doing to contribute to the country’s development.
