SIM Re-registration: MTN To Deploy More Mobile Teams To Centers For Smooth Processing

MTN Ghana has hinted of deploying a mobile team to the various institutions to help workers re-register their SIM Cards.  This follows long queues seen at the various Service Centers.
Reacting to the issue regarding congestion, the General Manager, MTN Regional Sales -Southern Ghana,  Abubakar Mohammed said there will be about 200 community activities across the country.

He also said there will be an increase in devices used for the registration.

“We deployed our mobile team to support activation at the various centers. Going forward to decongestants we will have almost 200 community activations happening across the country. At the same time we will be having the mobile team going to the institutions to support them with their re-registration”, he said.
“We also have plans to increase our devices to support the activation. So all these put together we believe we will be able to decongest our service centers and help customers”, Mr. Mohammed added.
Mr. Mohammed further entreated customers to initiate the self service which is linking the Ghana Card to their numbers before visiting the centers. This he said will make the process quicker.
“Key to also support the decongestion is for the customers to initiate and do the first leg which is *404# where they will do the self service to link their Ghana Card details to their registration details. It takes time when the agent does that and later does the biocap registration and we encourage them to do the self service”.
The SIM Card re-registration will end on the 31st March 2022.
