The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, is calling on the Apostle General of the Royal House Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, to have a word with Mr. John Mahama due to the strong ties he has with the National Democratic Congress.
Apostle General of the Royal House Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah has asked President Akufo-Addo to call NDC’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama to order.
To him, although a defeated candidate is the one supposed to call and concede defeat, it will be imperative for President Akufo-Addo to call Mr. Mahama for peace’s sake.
But speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show via telephone, the NPP Chairman also known as Chairman Wontumi stated that the statement by Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah on President Akufo-Addo to call Mr. John Mahama after beating him in the just ended elections, is out of place.
He contends that it is rather the defeated candidate that has to call the winner and not the other way round.
According to Chairman Wontumi, in 2012, after then candidate Akufo-Addo lost the Presidential elections to former President John Mahama, the former called the latter to concede defeat.
“Several of us won’t be happy if Akufo-Addo calls Mahama. He (Sam Korankye Ankrah) should rather advise Mahama because a lot of people are saying that he even supports Mahama politically”, Chairman Wontumi said.
