Sam George, Okudzeto Ablakwa failed to provide parliament with necessary documents they promised during their vetting – Suame MP Reveals

The Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, Lawyer John Darko, has revealed that the Minister for Communication, Hon. Sam George, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, failed to provide parliament and the vetting committee with necessary documents they promised during their vetting.

According to Lawyer Darko, the minority had reservations about approving the two ministers due to their failure to provide the required documents. However, the majority, with their numerical advantage, overruled the minority’s objections, paving the way for the ministers’ approval.

Lawyer Darko expressed disappointment at the turn of events, stating that the minority would have wished to reject the approval of the two ministers but were unable to do so due to the majority’s numbers.

Speaking in an interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV, the MP’s accused the Vetting Committee Chairman, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor of being protective of the nominees and displaying extreme partisanship, which hindered a thorough vetting process.

The MP’s accusation suggests that Ahiafor’s actions were intentional, aimed at shielding his colleagues in the majority from critical questions posed by the NPP minority.

The leader of the Minority Caucus Legal Counsel has emphasized the importance of conducting a diligent vetting process, ensuring that nominees are thoroughly scrutinized before being approved
