Rugby League: NRRA Starts Club Competition In Tamale

The Northern Region Rugby Association (NRRA) has started the 7 club competitions league match at the Tamale Stadium training pitch.

The participating teams are the Northern Lions RFC, Tamale Warriors RFC, and Rocks RFC.

The first match was between Northern Lions RFC Vs Tamale warriors RFC which ended with 42 – 5 against Tamale warriors.

The second match was between Temale warriors Vs Rocks RFC which also ended with Rocks RFC winning by 47 – 0.

The third match was between Northern Lions Vs Rocks RFC which ended with 35- 5 against Northern Lions RFC.

The Reginal Director of the National Sports Authority Madame Salamatu Alhassan who is keen on the development of Rugby and all sports in the Northern Region was present to graced the event and congratulated the coaches starting of the league matches and recommended the coaches and its officials for a good initiative as a way of developing and educating people about the game of Rugby.

The Coach and development officer of the National Sports Authority Mr. Ephraim Muhintum and his assistant Hudu Musah and others confirmed the games will continue every week until the fourth week to end the league.

The President of NRRA Ms. Rafatu Inusah confirmed this competition as a way of pursuing the Ghana Rugby development program.
