The Ahafo Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwabena Owusu Sekyere has hinted that road contractors would be the catalyst for NPP to go to opposition in the 2024 elections.
He noted that, President Akufo-Addo created Ahafo Region and noticed that the main plight of the region is poor road network and awarded 11 to contract.
But speaking on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show in Kumasi, Chairman Owusu Sekyere lamented that, only two of the contractors are on site working.
He said that, he is waiting for the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon Amoako Atta, to acquire his office instrument then he lodges the complain to him.
“Our local contractors complain bitterly that contracts are only given to the foreigners but if you give to them, they will do the work lackadaisically.” He said
“Those living in the rural areas are really suffering from dust.” He further lamented
According to the Ahafo Regional Chairman, some NPP leaders are behind the stalled road projects.
Chairman Owusu Sekyere questioned that, if the poor road networks are not fixed how will the NPP break the 8 years cycle?
“People are coward in telling the truth. If care is not taken, some people will take NPP to opposition. A time will come I won’t be a Regional Chairman so I have to leave a legacy behind,” he affirmed.
He said that, the people of the Ahafo Region would witness massive development in the next two years as far as Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration is concerned.
