Richard Jakpa’s Actions Constituted An Act Of Armed Robbery And Needs To Be Arrested- Agyemang

A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, Mr. Agyemang, has insisted that Richard Jakpa has committed a crime and needs to be arrested by the Ghana Police.

Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi’s morning show, Wofa Agyemang noted that Jakpa illegally gained access to the former central governor, Dr. Addison’s residence to investigate and gather information about his departure. This actions of Jakpa, he noted, constituted an act of armed robbery, as he kidnapped the victim’s cars from his residence and later called to direct him to retrieve them from a different location.

Mr. Agyemang urged the National Security to take action against Jakpa, stating that the national security agencies should work secretly and privately to address the matter.

This comes after some armed men numbering about 20 and led by Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, raided the private residence of the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison.

The raid, which took place on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, in the morning, occurred at the Roman Ridge property in Accra. Dr Addison was at home when the heavily armed men, some in balaclavas, wielding AK-47 semi-automatic rifles, showed up to conduct a search.

The team from National Security when they first arrived immediately disabled the CCTV system at the property.

They then demanded that Dr Addison led them to the “vaults” in his house. According to reports, the former Governor, told them that he had no vaults or any such cache of cash at home.
