Revocation Of Appointments Is Mahama’s First Crime Of “Stealing” Money- Abronye

. Chairman Abronye is accusing government of stealing GHC 550million and keeping it at Jubilee House

. He claims the previous government led by President Akufo-Addo left behind the money to be used to pay for the salaries of freshly recruited government workers

The Bono regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has emphatically stated that by revoking the appointments of freshly recruited government workers, President Mahama has committed a crime.

Speaking as a guest on the Movement in the Morning Political Show, Kwame Baffoe Abronye stated that President Mahama has not only used the pen to revoke their appointment but has “stolen money” in the process.

According to him, the previous government led by President Akufo-Addo, left behind an amount of GHC550 million to be used to pay the new recruits.

“The first crime the government of Mahama has committed against Ghanaians is the revocation of appointment”, he said adding that “they have stolen huge moneys.”

Chairman Abronye indicated that gone are the days, new recruits with appointments letters had to wait for a year before they got paid.

“You need financial clearance before an agency can recruit. The system makes a way for recruits to be paid after two years after securing an appointment”, he explained.

“The finance minister in his 2024 budget catered for this amount…you have revoked their appointments but where is their money which has been allocated?” he asked.
