A communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kafui Amegah, has stated that the ministerial reshuffling is a necessary evil and must be done.
This comes after President Akufo-Addo had responded to calls for him to reshuffle his appointees, stating that many of them for him have done outstanding work. Their output has been considerable, and that is what he looks at. Stressing that the calls come for all kinds of reasons; NDC wanting to destabilize the government is one. There are people who are also looking for jobs.
But reacting to this on Movement In The Morning Show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, Kafui Amegah told Kwaku Dawuro that “the President has spoken but I think the reshuffle is a necessary evil- for me its crossing and breaking the eight that is more important hence we need to pay attention to the public. There are people whose positions attract people to them so such people can build the party so strong. There are some people who are not taking the party to opposition but their attitude irritates people. So I believe that this is a crucial time. We have two and half more years to blow the whistle so we must look at the strategy and know which people will mobilize the grassroot. Now the serial callers are no longer calling on shows- it means that we are not taking care of the people down. You need to associate with them at the grounds there”.
”It’s good that the President has said he cannot respond to that publicly But what is more important is that it is a necessary evil. I have a different opinion. Sometimes this brings a new euphoria and happiness to the party. look at what happened when the General secretary of the party was changed, all those who felt they’ve been offended reconciled with the party,” he concluded.
