Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagged a brace in a 4-0 win in El Clasico as Barcelona inflicted a damaging defeat on Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

While Carlo Ancelotti’s side started well, they fell behind just before the half-hour mark when Aubameyang got ahead of Eder Militao to glance home an Ousmane Dembele cross into the box.

Ronald Araujo doubled Barca’s advantage less than 10 minutes later with the Uruguayan defender rising highest from a corner kick to power a header past Thibaut Courtois.

Ferran Torres added his name to the score sheet three minutes into the second half, finishing high into the roof of the net after a clever back-heel flick by Aubameyang to set up his teammate.

Aubameyang scored his second and Barcelona’s fifth after 51 minutes, but only after his chipped finish had been disallowed for offside. VAR was used the Gabon international was indeed onside when played through and the goal stood.

Barca had opportunities to score more goals, but Courtois pulled off several saves to maintain some dignity for his team as whistles rang around the Santiago Bernabeu from the home fans.
