The petition is grounded on the following facts:
Firstly; on the 25th if May,2022,the director of research and elections of the NPP ,Mr. Evans Nimako issued and distributed a memorandum to the regional minister and all the petitioners in the Aowin petition.
That, the memo contains the recommendation of the Alternative Dispute Resolution ADR Committee and the Legal Support Committee which was to mediate and build consensus among the feuding parties, as directed by the National Council of the party.
That in the findings and recommendations of the ADR ;
I.The alternative dispute resolution committee disagrees with the election committee’s disqualification of Clifford Kwesi on the grounds that he was not a registered voter within the Constituency.
II.According to the ADR report, Clifford Kwesi transferred his vote to the Aowin Constituency before election 2020.
By this findings, Clifford Kwesi was cleared and directed that he should be allowed to contest in the re-run elections.
III.Benson Afful who applied for the position of constituency organizer and was disqualified by the election committee of the Constituency Should also be allowed to contest the re-run elections since the grounds on which he was disqualified , according to the ADR was frivolous.
IV.The ADR again described the position of the election committee as unstable with reference to the grounds on which Madam Morcher Joana,the incumbent women’s organizer was disqualified.
The director of Elections and Research,Mr.Evans Nimako in the memo directed that the re-run should be held after conduct of the Regional Annual Delegates Conference .
That ,the said conference in the region was held on the 27th of May,2020 , about 18 days ago.
We are on this grounds writing to you and your good office to as a matter of urgency fix a date and organize the said re-run elections before the National Annual Delegates Conference in July so that;
Aowin Constituency would be well represented with qualified constituency executives”.It was concluded.
