A communications team member for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Marfo, has advised NPP national aspirants to put their personal interest aside ahead of the upcoming National executive elections.
The NPP on June, 8th 2022, opened nomination for the national executive positions as part of the party’s preparation for the upcoming general elections.
‘’Nominations have been opened for four days to allow the people who have interest in leading the party at the National level to help the party break the eight. Most of us are aware of the people who are vying for the various positions. I will plead with them; just as we did at the constituency and regional level we should do same at the national level”, Kwabena Marfo said.
He added that, “Everyone has their personal interest but the interest of the party should be paramount and the candidates should not forget the party’s interest is higher than their individual interest. We have to ensure there are no breaches and scar at the end of contest. This is not a time to backbite; it is a time to sell your policies and your contributions towards achieving the 2024 agenda”.
He further stated that candidates are mostly not the problem, the delegates are. Mr Marfo urged the candidates to thoroughly speak with the delegates because whatever they do at the end tarnishes the image of they the candidates.
