Public Service Workers Union Rejoice Over Suspension Of ‘No Ghana Card, No Salary Directive

The Public Service Workers Union (PSWU) is elated by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) for rescinding its decision not to pay public sector workers if they do not have a Ghana card.

According to the PSWU, every public sector worker earns a salary and for that matter, their salaries cannot be denied.

Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV Morning Show, the General Secretary for the PSWU, Bernard Adjei said, if there are some issues to be resolved in the payroll service, the grievances cannot be channelled to the workers.

“We all know the challenges of the Ghana card and if you give such blanket directive, you punish the innocent workers,” Bernard Adjei said.

He indicated that, if all stakeholders would honour their responsibilities, those not having the Ghana card can secure a copy as soon as possible.
