Chairman Wontumi has broken the first 8-year political cycle for the New Patriotic Party by being the first Ashanti regional Chairman to serve three consecutive terms in office.

Provisional results which were segmented into 4 zones, should Chairman Wontumi beating his closest contender, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah aka COKA as follow:

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah aka COKA is literally eating sand as Chairman Wontumi has created a huge gap in their contest.

The two men are in a race contesting for the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship slot but ballots counted in the third zone shows Chairman Wontumi raking in 106 to COKA’s 52.

A provisional result from the second zone has been released showing another victory for Chairman Wontumi.

The incumbent Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party beat his closet opponent by 112-111.

Prior to this, Chairman Wontumi took the early jab as he has beat Odeneho Kwaku Appiah after ballots were counted.

Chairman Wontumi is reported to have polled 115 votes against Odeneho Kwaku Appiah’s 75 votes giving an early indication that Chairman Wontumi would be retained.
