Prophet Nana Kwarteng Amanfo, General Overseer of Sankofa Ministries, has traced the alleged brawl between Jordan Ayew and Lawrence Ati-Zigi to the captaincy row that rocked the Black Stars during the era of Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah.
In an interview with Angel FM, Prophet Kwarteng explained that while Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah might have made up over the years, the division is still present in the Black Stars.
He stated that the only way to resolve the issue is for Abedi Ayew Pele to engage his son and urge him to stop.
Prophet Kwarteng stated that until Abedi Pele makes such a move, the misunderstanding between Jordan Ayew and other players will continue in the country.
“The fight is going to continue until someone speaks to Jordan Ayew. Abedi Pele will have to sit down and talk to him, else the fight will continue. The Black Stars will never achieve any success until Kurt Okraku is gone,” he said.
Black Stars duo Jordan Ayew and Lawrence Ati-Zigi were involved in a scuffle after Ghana’s disastrous defeat to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on October 15, 2024.
In a video sighted by GhanaWeb, the two players were spotted exchanging words in a heated argument and had to be separated by their teammates.
The incident occurred right after full-time while they gathered for their final moment on the pitch before heading to the dressing room.
The Black Stars suffered a catastrophic defeat to Sudan, losing 2-0 at the Martyrs of February Stadium.
