Promoting Quality Education: Frank Yeboah Foundation Organizes Maiden Spelling Bee Competition In Atwima Nwabiagya South

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO ) of Frank Yeboah Foundation, at Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya North district of the Ashanti Region, Mr Frank Yeboah has charged Ghanaians not to wait until they are fabulously rich before they think of supporting their communities and those residing there.

According to him, “no matter how little it is every benevolent gesture is enough to serve the purpose of providing relief for somebody in critical need or a community desperately seeking solutions to its numerous difficulties.”

 

Mr Yeboah offered this advice at Barekese Community Centre at the grand finale of the maiden edition of the Frank Yeboah Foundation Inter Community Spelling Bee Competition which he organized for Junior High Schools in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

Speaking to the media, Mr Yeboah who is a teacher, said he would ensure that the event does not become “a nine-day wonder but an annual event which would encourage, enhance and generate competitive minds among the youth in the Atwima Nwabiagya North district.

According to him, the district needs a generation with critical minds and a competitive spirit to impact positively on society.

At the end of the Competition, Akyease Methodist JHS won the maiden spelling Bee competition. They had as their prize, a trophy, a package of exercise Books, medals, a certificate and a cash prize of Gh₵2,000.00.

Royal Educational Complex at Atwima Koforidua placed second which fetched them a cash prize of GC1,500.00 while Dabaa D/A JHS placed third and was awarded GC1000.00.

Both second and third-placed schools like the overall winners were given medals, exercise books and certificates.

The Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser for the NPP, Mr Raphael Patrick Sarfo thanked the CEO of Frank Yeboah Foundation for his tremendous efforts to promote education in the district.

He said what should be one of the topmost priorities of every Ghanaian child in the Ashanti Region is to have access to quality education.

Mr Sarfo urged Mr Yeboah to ensure that the event is sustained as a way of developing more critical minds in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

A student from Akyease Methodist JHS, the overall winners of the Competition recounted that even though it was a tough race, the support from their teachers and Almighty God helped them to win the event.

She expressed gratitude to Mr Frank Yeboah for the initiative which according to her, “will certainly go a long way to boost efforts by the state to promote quality education in the country.”
