Former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has forewarned the Prof Ocquaye led committee not to mislead the New Patriotic Party as they investigate the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.
In an interview with Kwaku Dawuro on the Movement in the Morning Political Show, Adwoa Safo described Prof Mike Ocquaye as someone who lacks credibility to perform the tasks at hand.
“This is not a credible committee. If the party wants someone to conduct a research should it be this man whose son lost at our backyard? Where is his credibility?” she queried.
She further alleged that the committee is planning to blame Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the party’s loss in 2024.
“They are planning to pin the defeat of the NPP on Dr. Bawumia” but argued that “if we had done our things well, we wouldn’t have gotten there”.
The former MP challenged Prof Mike Ocquaye to include in his report reasons his own son lost the Dome Kwabenya seat to the National Democratic Congress.
“You have been Energy minister, Communications, Ambassador and a Speaker of Parliament. Your name carries respect so make sure that the report you are bringing out contains reasons your son lost Dome Kwabenya before adding that of Bawumia”, he said.
