A football fanatic, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen has said that the league and the Presidential match between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko should have been moved to Monday, 6th March 2023 to attract more spectators.
His comments follow the biggest match on Ghana’s football calendar which witnessed destitute spectators on Sunday, 5th March 2023.
Lawyer Obiri Boahen in an interview on Wontumi TV Morning Show said there were big matches in Europe over the weekend and that the organizers should have known better.
He said the attention of football lovers in the country is on European football.
The former Deputy NPP General Secretary said the organizers should have waited for the President, Akufo-Addo to finish the celebration at Ho to come and grace the occasion.
Accra Hearts of Oak had the bragging rights over Kumasi Asante Kotoko by beating the Porcupine warriors 1 nil to lift the President’s cup and secure the three points.
