President Akufo-Addo Is A Selfless Leader- Dr Forkuo

President Akufo-Addo Attends 75th UNESCO Anniversary; Takes Seven-day Leave Of Absence

Senior Lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo, has described President Akufo-Addo as a selfless leader who came purposely to serve Ghanaians rather than his personal interest.

Speaking on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com he said “For the past years, President Akufo-Addo has demonstrated he is ready to sacrifice and work for Ghana to achieve development’’.

His comment comes on the heels of  an announcement by the Ministry of Information on Monday 21st March, 2022, that senior appointees of President Akufo-Addo are to sacrifice 20% to 30% of their salaries to ease the economic pressure on the coffers of government.

A Cabinet retreat which was held on Thursday,17th March 2022 and Sunday, 20th March, 2022  between the president, his cabinet ministers and members of the Economic Management Team decided on reducing the salary of appointees by 20% to 30%, as part of his effort to reduce the economic pressure on the country.

However, some Members of Parliament from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), have rejected the decisions of the president.

But Dr Forkuo pointed out that “the onus lies on the citizenry to appreciate him. We should all prepare to sacrifice and stop complaining’’.
