Prepare to Pay Fees or Taxes If Teachers Are Treated Like Nurses – Paul Yandoh to Parents

The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, has issued a strong warning to parents, urging them to be ready to pay school fees or special taxes if the current treatment of nurses is extended to teachers in the future.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Wontumi TV, Mr. Yandoh criticized the response of the NDC government to the ongoing strike by nurses, describing it as disappointing and careless.

He expressed shock at comments by the deputy finance minister, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, suggesting that the economy would collapse if the government met the demands of the striking nurses.

“It’s sad and shameful that a government official would say something like this. Nurses are essential to our healthcare system, and their welfare should be a top priority,” he stated.

Mr. Yandoh stressed the importance of nurses in delivering healthcare services and called on the government to treat their conditions of service with the urgency they deserve. He pointed out that the handling of the strike reflects the incompetence of both the NDC government and the current Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.

He further advised the health minister to change his approach immediately or risk being the first to be reshuffled in the new administration.
