Popular Ghanaian actress Elorm Aba has debunked claims on social media that actress Portia Asare had snatched her boyfriend.
In an interview on Onua TV, Elorm Aba clarified that she has no personal issues with Portia.
Elorm explained that their friendship fell off for unknown reasons, and her attempts to reach out to Portia have been unsuccessful.
She insisted that there was no boyfriend-snatching involved on either side.
“I didn’t snatch her boyfriend. When I was close to her, I used to call her for acting gigs. I don’t have anything against her.
“The last time I tried to reach out to her, it couldn’t go through. Maybe she has changed her number or she has blocked me. I don’t know.
“I never had any issue with her, she didn’t steal my boyfriend, and I didn’t steal her boyfriend,” she said.
The only point of contention, according to Elorm, was Portia’s comments about the Kumawood movie industry being affected by ‘juju’.
Elorm, who is actively involved in Kumawood, criticized these comments but stressed that her critique was not personal.
“My critique against her was solely about what she said about Kumawood because it’s something that I am actively involved in,” Elorm stated.
In July 2024, Portia Asare claimed that ‘juju,’ hatred, and envy among Kumawood stakeholders led to the industry’s collapse.
Her comments were criticized by colleagues, including Elorm Aba and Okomfo Kolege.
In a September 2024 interview, Elorm Aba acknowledged the existence of juju but argued it wasn’t the sole cause of Kumawood’s challenges.
Aba warned that such statements could deter investors and newcomers, further harming the industry.
