Pogba Could Miss World Cup Due To Knee Injury

Paul Pogba’s knee injury may force him to miss the 2022 World Cup, according to reports in Italy,

Pogba will consult with a specialist to determine the best course of action for his problem after it was revealed that he had a meniscus lesion.

He developed the problem after limping out of training with new club Juventus in Los Angeles last week due to right knee pain.

The 29-year-old midfielder spent time on the sidelines with Manchester United due to various injuries, and it appears that he has at least one more serious injury to deal with now that he has returned to the Italian club on a free transfer.

Pogba has returned to Italy to see a specialist, and according to La Gazetta dello Sport, he may be out for the rest of the season.

One treatment is to remove a piece of the meniscus, which could result in a two-month absence and give him time to regain fitness for the World Cup with France. However, that option is typically reserved for younger athletes.

Another option would be to suture the lesion, but this could keep him out for four to five months, putting not only the World Cup, but also the rest of 2022’s games, in jeopardy.
