Kumasi-based Royalton International School has strengthened its relationship with Wonders Academy in the USA.

The relationship forms part of a greater height of collaboration and partnership.

In furtherance, the two schools will explore, unearth and share experiences, culture, skills, and talents in exchange.

Speaking at a mini durbar of students, teachers and parents, the Director of Royalton International School, Mrs. Judith Oteng Marfo was full of commendation for the delegation from Wonder Academy, North Carolina, USA.

She said it was the first time the school was receiving such a delegation and hoped it would lead to an endless bond and partnership.

Mrs. Oteng Marfo encouraged parents to prioritize the education of their wards saying education is the best legacy every parent can bequeath a child.

She advised parents not to waste money on material worth but rather invest in their children.

“Why waste money on funeral clothes and other material things and leave your kids to suffer,” she quizzed.

Royalton International School in 2018 started with 4 students but can now boast of a little over 100 students.

For her part, Dr Taylor Dee Spencer of Wonder Academy noted that as African Americans and members of the diaspora it is with great honor that they visit Ghana to be exposed to a country within our home continent.

“We are so excited to establish partnership with the Royalton International School here in Kumasi under the leadership of Madam Judith Oteng-Marfo.

She hopie that through partnership they can continue advancing the efforts of making early childhood a priority here in Ghana.

“It has been estimated that globally, 43% of children less than five years old are not achieving their full potential. This could be because they do not receive the five elements of ‘nurturing care’ for children including health, nutrition, early stimulation, learning opportunities, and protection. We want to couple these five elements of nurturing care with the five domains of early childhood development including cognitive development, language development, emotional and social development, approaches to play and learning, and physical development,” she stressed.

Dr Taylor reiterated that by providing all young children (from birth to entry into school) equal access to quality health, nutrition, protection, early learning services, and support to parents and caregivers we build a strong foundation for a child’s life.

“It is our hope that through our interactions and partnership we can continue making children’s foundations stronger to lead more abundant lives for themselves and for our future! As a educator, entrepreneur, and childrens author and singer I have brought my book “I Won’t Be A Kid Forever” to provide a signed copy to each student here at Royalton as a symbol of opportunity, dreams, unity, and courage to do anything you put your mind to,” she said.
