Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, the government’s spokesperson on governance and security, has stated that he does not think the accusations made by those who support the resolution of censure calling for Ken Ofori Atta’s resignation from office have any “weight” behind them.
He refuted claims that the economy’s problems are a result of the recklessness of Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta.
He chided the Minority in Parliament following the motion for a vote of censure tabled against the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori.
Describing the motion as bogus, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah said the move is aimed at embarrassing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and making his government unpopular.
The assertion, according to Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, is untrue because Ken Ofori Atta followed all rules set forth while performing his duties as Minister of Finance.
Instead, he claimed that the Minority in Parliament’s actions in 2021 caused confusion, which stoked distrust and resulted in investment exodus.
“I want to state that the Finance Minister(Ken Ofori Atta) has not been reckless in the management of the fiscal operations of the government,”Palgrave Boakye-Danquah noted.
“Instead, Ken Ofori Atta’s arduous efforts to safeguard the public coffers have enabled this government to accomplish much, much more than any other government in every sector, including education, health, social welfare, policing, general security, roads, rail or the, agriculture, industrialization, tourism, digitization, and fuwas was ding for anti-corruption institutions,” he added
He said every action of monetary issue was first discussed with Parliament and approval granted before implementation.
Every financial decision, according to him, was first discussed with Parliament and approved before being carried out.
