Over 220 Wooden Structures Destroyed As Fire Guts Dagomba Line In Kumasi

A devastating fire has destroyed over 220 wooden structures at Dagomba Line near Oforikrom in Kumasi in the early hours of the day.

The blaze, which reportedly started around 4:30 a.m., quickly spread through the densely packed wooden buildings, consuming shops and other properties before firefighters could bring it under control.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, including teams from the KNUST Fire Station, the Regional Headquarters Substation, and the Asokore Mampong Fire Station, worked for hours to contain the inferno.

The fire was brought under control before 6:00 a.m. and fully extinguished shortly after 6:50 a.m.

Despite the scale of destruction, no casualties were recorded.occupants are counting their losses, as goods and personal belongings were reduced to ashes.

 

 

The cause of the fire remains unknown, with investigations currently underway.

Meanwhile, authorities have praised the swift intervention of firefighters, which prevented the blaze from spreading further to nearby structures.
