Otumfuo Urges NYA To Find More Ways To Give Skills To The Uneducated
The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has charged the National Youth Authority (NYA) to find more ways to give skills to the uneducated in the country.
This he noted, will solve the numerous youth idling about owing to lack of skills.
Otumfour noted that not all can be educated and that they must also be helped.
The Asantehene gave the admonition Friday (21/01/2022) during a courtesy call on him by the CEO of NYA, Pious Enam Hadzide, his two Deputies and Directors at the Manhyia Palace.
Otumfuo said incorporating the uneducated youth to be skilled is beneficial to the development of the country.
He explained that when they get jobs to do, they will honor their tax obligation for the government to use to construct or expand road networks.
The CEO of the NYA, Pious Enam Hadzide noted that the nation is suffering from volunteerism saying the spirit of unity, commitment and patriotism are lost values.
As part of ways to rekindle these values, the CEO noted that NYA has introduced National Youth Volunteer Program (NYVP).
Hon Pious Hadzide said the NYVP will train about 100,000 youth in the short term to inculcate into them the missing nationalistic values.
“We have the modules in place and we have come to seek the support of His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.I am happy to say that he has agreed to give us his maximum support,” he stressed.
Hon Pious Hadzide emphasized that with the full support of His Majesty, the NYVP shall be launched at the Manhyia Palace under the patronage of the Asantehene.
