Otto Addo Set To Name Black Stars Squad For Angola And Niger Games, No Local Player – Reports

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, is reportedly considering excluding local-based players from his next call-ups for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to a report filed by FootballGhana, the German could name his squad without any player from the Ghana Premier League. He is expected to name his squad for the games in the coming week.

The Black Stars will kick off their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with games against Angola and Nigeria in September.

Ghana will host Angola in the first matchday of the qualifiers before playing as guests to Niger in the second fixture.

The four-time African champions will face Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 4, 2024, before travelling to Niger five days later.

Otto Addo’s charges are on a two-game winning run after beating Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
