Otto Addo Is Building A Good Black Stars Team – Agyemang-Badu

Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is confident that Otto Addo is on the right track to building a strong team, following consecutive victories last month.

The senior national team secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against Mali in Bamako and a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium. These wins have propelled the team to second place in Group I.

Agyemang-Badu, a former Udinese midfielder, sees positive signs in these matches that Addo can build on.

He also expressed his admiration for the former Borussia Dortmund Talent Coach.

“I think in his second coming, he said he’s coming to build a team for Ghana. When he leaves, then he has a legacy,” Agyemang-Badu told Joy Sports.

“He’s bringing in new good guys. We have watched the two games. You can’t even remember the last time we won two straight games, especially an away game. So, we can build on that.”

He acknowledged that, there are still areas for improvement in the team.

“There are a lot of lapses in the team. That one, we can’t run away from that. He’s well experienced. This is the second coming. He knows where he needs to beef up. We will support him.

“I mean, I’m a fan of him. Let me tell you that for a fact. I think he will build a good team for us. He should be very tough like how he is as usual. Take decisions that he thinks will help him and help the team. That’s the most important thing,” he added.

Following their victories in the World Cup qualifiers, the Black Stars will now focus on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, starting with a home game against Angola in September.
