The National Democratic Congress (NDC)delegation which attended the NPP National Delegates Congress to deliver a solidarity message make a mockery of themselves when t they sought to make political capital from the current harsh economic realities that have affected the whole world.
Via an unproductive populist prank which failed to fly, Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otokunor held aloft a ball of kenkey which he said to cost 5 Ghana Cedis but failed to impress.
Some of his party members who were with him on the platform showed signs of not being amused by the gimmick which ran counter to their mission which was to deliver a solidarity message.
The NDC delegation also tried to make a mockery of Dr Bawumia’s glowing achievement in the digitization of the economy and the famous Ghana card, the game changer, by downplaying its relevance.
But the NDC’s Deputy General Secretary could hardly make any meaningful impact with the clumsy twisting of facts approach which looked out of place.
Mr Otokunor, who had only one minute to make his presentation on behalf of his party had to be constantly reminded that time was up until he swallowed back the other chaff he could not pour out due to time constraints.
His counterparts in the CPP and PNC however, had a better message to deliver to the gathering by calling on the government not to halt the free SHS programme because of its far-reaching impact on the country’s human resource development in the long term
