A driver has died in a fatal road accident involving a trailer at Kordzeto near Hohoe in the Volta Region.
The incident occurred on Thursday, February 26, 2026, when the trailer, which was transporting cement, crashed, leaving the driver trapped in the wreckage.
Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service arrived promptly and rescued the driver from the mangled vehicle. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead.
The crash caused significant damage to the trailer and its cargo, partially obstructing the roadway. Authorities secured the scene to prevent further risks to motorists and facilitated the removal of the damaged vehicle to restore normal traffic flow.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
