It is almost 6:00 pm and the Electoral Commission has started counting votes.

Counting has started at some polling centers across Kumawu. The first polling center to be captured by Wontumi TV/Radio was the Wonoo School Center where one of our reporter has been stationed.

A female reporter with Wontumi TV/Radio, has been attacked by some macho men affiliated to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Giving details about the incident, Akosua Konadu Yiadom, stated that whilst capturing a scene Peter Boamah Otunokor created a polling center, “a man with his back facing to my camera was captured in the video”.

However, the man who wasn’t her focus in the video she captured trailed her and threatened her at a shop she had visited to buy water for consumption.

“I told him I don’t even know you and he hit my shoulders in a terrifying manner and told me he wishes me well…I couldn’t take his car number because I was terrified. My friend who was with me told me she was also terrified that they were able to track us and spot the car we drove in”, she said.

A member of the New Patriotic Party has disclosed that he overheard the National Chairman for the National Democratic Congress telling Mr. John Mahama that they will fail woefully at Kumawu.

The NPP man who spoke to Wontumi FM’s Akyemkwaa Nana Kofi Asare at Dadease, revealed that “I was standing close to Asiedu Nketia and I heard telling John Mahama to throw in the towel”.

Radio and TV broadcaster, Kwaku Dawuro has cast doubt over the ability of the National Democratic Congress to collate results from the Kumawu by-election.

Speaking on Wontumi TV/Radio, he stated that “by 6pm I am challenging them to produce their pink sheets”.

He mocked at the NDC noting that instead of them investing heavily in collation of election results, their flagbearer John Mahama has rather pledged to give agents of the party ‘ataya’ to drink.

Three women have humbled Peter Boamoah Otukonor and threatened to beat him to the pulp after he had aggressively stormed a voting center at Wonoo to create confusion.

The women according to Akosua Konadu Yiadom a reporter for Wontumi TV/Radio, were courageous to put Peter Boamoah Otukonor in his place before the security forces stepped in.

“One woman by name Salomey a former NPP deputy Woman Organizer at Bantaman, nearly put her finger in Otukonor’s eye. Another Vivian Fosua a national rep for NPP and the one put Otukonor at his rightful place…Salomey followed him to his car and warned him if he dares comes around to do that again, she will teach him a lesson”, she said.

The main independent parliamentary candidate in the Kumawu by-election, Kwaku Duah has slapped an agent for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at a polling center.

An eyewitness, Nana Poku Frefre tells Wontumi TV/Radio that Kwaku Duah’s action stunned people who were around the Anglican JHS voting center.

The matter he said has been reported at the Kumawu police station and an investigation into the matter has started.

Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo has exposed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for sharing packs of cigarettes at Kumawu for lure some voters to vote for them.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Dr. Forkuo insisted that the sharing of the harmful substance shows that the NDC doesn’t care about human life.

“It doesn’t make any health sense”, Dr. Forkuo insisted and shamed the NDC for only valuing political power than human life.

“They (NDC) don’t care about the lives of individuals; all they care about is their party”, he said.

Radio and TV broadcaster Dasebre Agyei Dwamena, is accusing the National Democratic Congress of conniving with an old woman to create chaos at a voting center at Kumawu.

His reaction follows an earlier report by a reporter for Wontumi TV/Radio that tan old lady who had sought help from an EC official at Methodist JHS 2 polling center got hoodwinked after she was lured to vote for a candidate she didn’t prefer.

The Presiding Officer has been removed from the center for luring the old woman.
