Offinso Accident: Four Of The Eight Departed Juvenile Footballers Go Home Today

The mortal remains of four of the 8 juvenile footballers who perished tragically in a car accident on the Offinso River have been laid to rest today.

The burial service is is taking place today at Offinso in the Ashanti region. Among those whose remains are buried today include the late Boakye Samuel, Hubert Anaba, Ofori Amanfo Ramsey and Alex Agyemang.

On Sunday September 19, these young players of Africa Vision Academy, a total of 31, had traveled to Afrancho for colts football registration. On their way back, the driver is said to have lost control of his car and the vehicle plunged into the Offinso river. Six died on the spot and two later died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

One of the young footballers who died in the accident, according to reports, was a Muslim by faith and was buried earlier. Officials from the GFA, Sports Ministry and National Sports Authority were all represented at the burial service.
