The attention of the Office of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been drawn to malicious attempts to twist events that occurred during the recently held End of the Year Party for members of the party at Golden Tulip.
We would like to state emphatically and without any equivocation that the purpose of the party was to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all individuals within the party and government for their efforts and contributions towards the progress and development of Ashanti NPP.
For this reason, invitations were extended to everyone; MPs, Ministers, CEOs, party executives amongst others.
It was not specifically organised to provide a platform for anyone to perpetuate their political agenda as being speculated.
It must also be emphasised that the Bawumia Must Win(BMW) mantra, which has generated some discussions as occasioned by events on the night, was not about the political ambition of the Vice President.
As a matter of fact, the BMW slogan was invented in reference to the current economic challenges and how we hope the Economic Management Team, which the Vice President is the figure head, can navigate through these challenges and eventually become successful.
So the Bawumia Must Win was basically to affirm the conviction that Government must win over the current economic situation, especially the recent Cedi-Dollar challenges.
We hope this statement brings clarity to the issue.
