NPP Youth Celebrate “NUMERO UNO” Position On Ballot Paper
Hundreds of New Patriotic Party (NPP) members belonging to two youthful groups within the ruling party on Wednesday, converged on the premises of Wontumi TV/Radio in Kumasi to celebrate “the comfortable lead of the NPP in the election league table.”
The jubilant party members, most of them in their early 20’s, were drafted from the , Loyal Ladies and Alpha Patriots respectively who held a mini rally in front of the Ghana’s Number one TV station, Wontumi amidst singing and dancing and chanting of NPP’s slogans with live brass band music blaring in the background.
In their colourful party T-shirts , members of the two groups were later addressed by equally jubilant the Ashanti regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiakoi Wontumi who electrified the atmosphere with his decisive clarion call to the group members to make the number one position on the ballot paper really meaningful and realistic.
Putting the Number One placement within the Biblical context, the charismatic Ashanti Regional Chairman said,” it portends a good omen that gives justification of the Oneness and Uniqueness of God. It confirms that God is indeed one and he has only one Son who came to rescue mankind.” He explained.
.Chairman Wontumi, whose inference drew applause from the crowd of youthful party members also challenged them to bear in mind that the battle ahead is between God, the creator and satan the destroyer, so the winner in the battle on hand is obvious.
“Victory is staring at us in the face because the Number one position places us first in all the dynamics of the contest and by God grace, the NPP is going to humiliate their opponents in a way they will never forget.” He said.
The leaders of the two groups Obeng Asiedu for the Loyal Ladies and Stephen Debrah for Alpha Patriots said they were excited about the “Numero uno” position on the ballot.
“ It justifies that our party is outstanding and reflect our uniqueness.” Afia said.
“The placement is the party’s victory Number One and a precursor to the national mega keep walk event at Bantama on October 31 which will shake the whole of the country.” Stephen noted.
He continued, “After the keep fit event, we shall be well-positioned to set our eyes on the victory ahead come December 7.”
The group leaders who were short of quoting the American Motto, ”E pluribus Unum (out of many, one)” to justify their excitement said what is left for victory to be in their grip is to intensify their campaign
“Now that we have set our eyes on the gold medal, what to do next is to campaigning aggressively. Because effective campaigning is sine qua non to ensuring total victory so we shall leave no stone unturned in our efforts to reach out to everybody who matters with our message of hope, to ensure total victory for the NPP.” Stephen disclosed.
Meanwhile, after leaving the premises of Wontumi TV/Radio, at Asokwa, members of the Loyal Ladies travelled to the Odotobiri constituency to make some donations to support the NPP’s campaign efforts , The items donated included, bicycles, wellington boots, cutlasses and other farming inputs.
